Accessibility Information
This directory shares accessibility details as provided directly by each venue. Our goal is to make it easier for seniors and caregivers to plan visits by gathering accessibility information in one place and confirming it when possible through simple methods.
We do not perform ADA compliance evaluations, professional accessibility inspections, or formal assessments. All information is based on what venues state and what can be reasonably confirmed.
How We Collect Accessibility Information
We use straightforward, practical methods to gather and confirm accessibility details:
- Venue‑Provided Information – Venues describe their own accessibility features in their own words.
- Website Review – We review the venue’s official website for any published accessibility information, photos, or descriptions.
- Phone or Email Clarification – When needed, we contact the venue to clarify or confirm details they have shared.
- Optional Visual Walk‑Through – If a venue offers a virtual tour or video walk‑through, we may use it to better understand the layout.
- Venue‑Submitted Updates – Venues may update their accessibility information at any time, and we publish those updates promptly.
These methods help ensure listings are as accurate as possible without implying professional evaluation or certification.
What We Publish
We share accessibility details exactly as venues describe them.
Examples include:
- entrance notes
- seating options
- general mobility access
- restroom notes
- staff assistance availability
- any other features the venue chooses to highlight
We do not alter or reinterpret accessibility claims beyond basic clarity.
What We Do Not Provide
To avoid confusion and ensure legal clarity:
- We do not certify ADA compliance.
- We do not perform professional accessibility assessments.
- We do not guarantee the accuracy of venue‑provided information.
- We do not evaluate medical suitability.
- We do not guarantee that accessibility features remain unchanged.
Visitors should contact venues directly if they have specific needs.
Corrections and Updates
If you notice outdated or unclear accessibility information, please contact us. We will:
- reach out to the venue
- request updated details
- publish corrections promptly
Accuracy improves when the community participates.
Suggest a Venue
If you know a senior‑friendly venue in Austin or Travis County, please submit it through our Suggest a Venue page. Venues may also request upgraded listings with enhanced visibility.
Our Purpose
This directory exists to make accessibility information easier to find — not to certify or inspect venues. We simply gather, confirm, and publish what venues report, so seniors and caregivers can make informed decisions.
